My name is Valerie McIntyre and I have been a professional photographer for 39 years. I won my first camera at age nine in a foot race in Illinois. Ever since then, I have loved photography – families and high school seniors are my specialty. By 1986, I had opened and operated a successful studio, with work encompassing weddings, portraits, and commercial photography.
In 1994, I moved my studio and home to Columbia Falls, Montana in the Flathead Valley – only 14 miles from Glacier National Park – so I could photograph families in a beautiful private setting. I continue to study with the top portrait artists in the country to keep up with the current cutting edge trends in the portrait world.
In addition, I developed the newborn photography program at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in 2011 and photographed thousands of newborns there through 2014.
My 20 acre outdoor studio includes a beautiful flower garden, large weeping willows, split rail fences, large pine trees, a magical birch grove, a 1913 barn, a Rocky Mountain backdrop with beautiful grasses as the foreground, a Montana buckboard wagon and so much more.
My large indoor studio has warm, heated floors, a changing room and restroom, a beautiful rustic background to accommodate large groups, and lots of unique props and other backgrounds to choose from. All these different settings in the perfect lighting conditions to choose from make my studio a very special place to have a portrait done.
